Celebrating events and festivals in school have become an integral part of learning and building a strong cultural belief in a child. Children will remember a day only if they are told what the occasion signifies. Guru Purnima, Teacher’s Day, Independence Day, Republic Day, International Yoga Day, National Sports Day, Marathi divas, Hindi Bhasha divas, Ashadi Ekadashi, Investiture Ceremony, Farewell to Class X etc.
Another attraction of Pre-primary section is ‘circle time activity’ for KG and LKG kids. It acts just as a workshop for the children which enable them to acquire the skills of different activities in daily life.
The Jungle Safari created by our Pre-primary section was a treat for the eyes of all students. Kinder dance is a new initiation taken by our pre-primary section for the improvement of motor development and readiness skill.

With this thought Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and ardour at Omkar International
School, CBSE. The school was decorated with tricolour balloons and flags, which welcomed the eyes of all to the function. The day highlighted the never to be forgotten, glory and sacrifices made by the great martyrs, the warriors of India.

To honor the birth of India’s second President, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, Teacher’s Day is celebrated annually on September 5th. At Omkar International School, CBSE, students of grades IX and X organized a vibrant celebration on September 5, 2023. The students, numbering 40 in total, took on the role of teachers, delivering lectures on ongoing subjects. The event began with a prayer, showcasing Indian cultural traditions. Students expressed gratitude to their teachers with heartfelt cards, emphasizing the significance of educators in shaping the future.

“Yoga is not about touching your toes. It is what you learn on the way down”.
International yoga day is observed every year on June 21st 2023. Omkar International School, CBSE saw student yoga enthusiasts come together to experience the shared Joy of performing relaxing asanas, doing breathing exercises and stretching their bodies and minds. Students were guided through their yoga routine even remotely, making this a unique hybrid Yoga Day Celebration. It is a hope that the students will continue practicing the routine throughout their lives to reap the immense benefits of yoga.

Embracing the rich tapestry of Hindi Language and Culture, Omkar International School, CBSE celebrates Hindi Divas on 14th September 2023. From traditional dances to eloquent elocutions and soulful poetry recitations , our students showcased the beauty of Hindi language and its heritage.

Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated with enthusiasm at Omkar Caterpillar Kidz School, Thakurli on October 2, 2023. The day started with a brief introduction to Gandhi’s values, followed by age-appropriate activities like drawing his iconic glasses and spinning wheel. Children and teachers dressed in khadi, creating a visual connection to Gandhian simplicity. Teachers shared stories about Gandhi, and the kids participated in singing bhajans. A mini “Dandi March” within the school premises emphasized unity and non-violence. The celebration aimed to instill respect and admiration for Mahatma Gandhi among the pre-primary kids.

Friendship day Celebration
Friendship Day was joyously celebrated at Omkar Caterpillar kidz School, Thakurli on 7th August,2023 by pre-primary kids with heartfelt enthusiasm. The little ones exchanged handmade cards, shared treats, and engaged in fun group activities, fostering a sense of camaraderie. Laughter echoed as they played games, reinforcing the importance of friendship in their early years.
Diwali, meaning “row of lamps,” is a joyous Indian festival symbolizing light’s triumph over darkness. Lasting five days, with the main celebration on the third day, it fosters togetherness and renewal. Celebrated with lamps, decorations, and gifts, Diwali transcends religious boundaries. At our school, festive spirit filled the air with diya and lantern decorations. The Principal highlighted Diwali’s essence—celebrating life and goodness. Students discussed its significance, emphasizing good over evil. Safety guidelines for fireworks were shared to raise awareness about potential harm.
Our pre-primary Janmashtami celebration was a joyous event filled with cultural significance. Children dressed as little Radhas and Krishnas, showcasing creativity with peacock-themed costumes. The “Matka Breaking” activity added excitement, echoing the festive spirit as children attempted to break clay pots filled with goodies. The event combined cultural awareness, creative expression, and joyous activities, allowing young learners to embrace Lord Krishna’s teachings in a playful and memorable way.
The day featured a vibrant celebration with a dance to “Vitthal, Vitthal” by students dressed as Warkaris. Girls held tulsi plants, boys enchanted with cymbals, creating a mesmerizing atmosphere. Students shared insights into ‘Ashadi Ekadashi’ and ‘Pandharpur Yatra.’ A Dindi Ceremony led by the principal and vice principal included worship of Vitthal-Rukmini, Palkhi, and Dnyaneshwari. All students participated, offering fruits and flowers, fostering a sense of devotion and spirituality.

Pre-primary kids of Omkar Caterpillar kidz School, Thakurli enthusiastically celebrated Navratri and Dussehra on 23rd October, showcasing vibrant cultural activities. The tiny tots adorned traditional attire, danced to rhythmic beats, and participated in art and craft sessions, creating colourful depictions of the festival. Joyful performances and the burning of a symbolic effigy marked the essence of this delightful celebration.
