IMPLEMENTATION OF NATIONAL CURRICULUM FRAMEWORK IN FOUNDATIONAL STAGE

Schools under Omkar Educational Trust are the first among those schools that have grabbed the opportunity to implement National Curriculum Framework (NCF) in our foundational stage. Our honourable Government has developed the NCF based on the vision of National Education Policy, 2020 and to enable its implementation. The first eight years of a child’s life lay the foundation for lifelong well-being and overall growth and development.

The early years of education is pivotal in everyone’s life. We believe that education must foster both inner and external development. Through NCF, we aim for Panchakosha Vikas (Fivefold development). At Omkar International School, CBSE under Panchakosha Vikas we concentrate mainly on the development of a child’s six major domains.

PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT: Children develop fit and flexible bodies, sharpness in sensorial perception and habits that keep them healthy and safe.

SOCIAL, EMOTIONAL AND ETHICAL DEVELOPMENT: The curricular goal in this domain is to develop emotional intelligence that is the ability to understand and manage their own emotions, respond positively to social norms and to inculcate a positive attitude towards productive work and service.

COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT: Children make sense of the world around them through observation and logical thinking. They develop mathematical understanding and ability to recognize the world through quantities, shapes and measures.

LANGUAGE AND LITERACY DEVELOPMENT: It develops effective communication skills for day-to-day interactions and develop fluency in reading and writing languages.

AESTHETIC AND CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT: Students develop abilities and sensibilities in visual and performing arts and express their emotions through art in meaningful and joyful ways.

POSITIVE LEARNING AND ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS DEVELOPMENT: Children develop habits of learning that allow them to engage actively in formal learning environments like a school classroom. To attain these curricular goals, our teachers use different competencies and achieve the desired learning outcomes. The specially trained teachers make learning easy and interesting for students through different activities and make them understand all the basic concepts. When children learn through enjoyment, the concepts remain in their minds forever. The assessment pattern is in a continuous and comprehensive method through daily activities, assignments and projects that children do both indoors and outdoors at the campus, and at home. Under this new policy, our children learn in a stress-free environment while enjoying their time with peers and grow as good citizens.
